Where to dine during National Curry Week - 9th - 15th October

National Curry Week is a celebration of one of the most beloved and iconic dishes in the world, curry. This week-long celebration offers the perfect opportunity to indulge in a menu offering up the finest curry dishes. We have rounded up some of our favourite restaurants to visit during National Cury Week.

LIMIN Southbank

Spice up your taste buds and dive into the vibrant flavours of Trinidad at LIMIN Southbank, nestled in the lively Gabriel’s Wharf! LIMIN is cranking up the heat with two mouthwatering, authentic Trinidadian curries, crafted by Chef-Owner Sham Mahabir.

Indulge in The G.O.A.T, tender British goat meat, marinated in a bold Trinidadian curry blend and green seasoning for 24 hours, then slow-cooked to perfection. Looking for a veggie option? Try out The Island Veggie Curry, a flavourful medley of baby potatoes, roasted cauliflower and sweet peas, slow-cooked in aromatic Trinidad Indian spices, black onion seeds and fresh coconut milk, served with steamed rice.

A selection of other curries, including Auntie’s Curry Chicken, marinated in spices overnight; the subtly spiced Village Masala Fish; and the Riverside curry leaf and black garlic pork curry. Each dish is a one-way ticket to the rich, bold tastes of the Caribbean. Soak up the island vibes with freshly cooked Caribbean dishes, tropical cocktails, and lively tunes.

Babur

Babur, South East London’s culinary treasure, invites you to indulge your senses with an irresistible feast.

Start with the melt-in-your-mouth Malai Chicken Tikka, where tender chicken thigh meets a luxurious cashew nut and mint yoghurt chutney. Or, try the Salmon Dill Tikka—chargrilled Scottish salmon served with a cool cucumber raita and a tangy kasundi mustard dip that packs a punch.

For the main course, choose between two showstoppers: the Kadai Chicken, a North Indian delight featuring succulent chicken in a rich, spiced tomato, onion, and bell pepper curry, or the Kashmiri-style Lamb Rogan Josh, bursting with deep, aromatic flavours.

Pravaas

Chef Shilpa Dandekar from Pravaas is turning up the heat with her creative twist on a classic Mangalorean Chicken, blending the rich, traditional flavours of India with a modern European flair. Mangalorean Chicken, which comes from the coastal region of Karnataka is known for its rich blend of spices and coconut.

Chef Shilpa’s version features tender chicken with a vibrant mix of coconut, chilli, curry leaves and tamarind and captures an unforgettable taste of India’s southwest coast in every bite.

“I love the Berwick Street market during the week, my favourite is Violets  – dishing up healthy Mediterranean food. Try the chicken salad dish, I look forward to lunchtimes!

“My favourite restaurant is Zahtar – it has a fantastic selection of Turkish small plates, with flavour sensations transporting you to Turkey.”

Claire – Interior Designer

“Soho is like a village, everyone knows everybody. You’ll find all the locals in My Place – one of my favourite coffee places. While you’re here come visit me above Broadwick Fabrics.
