What to do for International Women’s Day 2025

Looking for the perfect way to celebrate International Women’s Day in London? We’ve curated a list of some of the most exciting and empowering events across the city, each one championing the incredible contributions of women.


International Women's Day panel event at The Marylebone Hotel on 3rd March

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Marylebone Village is hosting an inspiring panel discussion on Monday, March 3, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at The Marylebone Hotel. The event will be hosted and moderated by Jo Good, a local Marylebone Village resident and renowned broadcaster. Joining the panel is an outstanding lineup of female business leaders:


Henrietta Rix, co-founder of RIXO

Marielle Wyse, founder of WYSE London

Jennie Allen, founder of Bayley & Sage

Stacy Chan, founder of PLATFORM


Joining the panel as a special guest is Charlotte Collins, Editor-in-Chief of the digital fashion and lifestyle publication SheerLuxe. A seasoned broadcaster and media commentator in the fashion space, Charlotte will share her insights and expertise with the audience.


Guests will hear candid discussions on the challenges, career journeys, and key milestones of the panellists in the fashion and hospitality industries. Topics will include equality, work-life balance, career advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, and more.


Following the panel, guests are invited to network while enjoying complimentary drinks and nibbles provided by The Marylebone Hotel. The event supports The Marylebone Project, London’s largest and longest-running centre for homeless women, championed by artist Ellie Goulding.

Workshop with Head Pâtisserie Chef Julie Walsh at Le Cordon Bleu on 4th March

Le Cordon Bleu London’s Head Pâtisserie Chef, Julie Walsh, will lead an exclusive workshop where participants will craft Baba Sabrina—a beautifully plated dessert inspired by a defining moment in the institute’s 130-year history. This delicate jasmine-infused yeast cake, paired with wild strawberry and lime cream, is a tribute to the 1954 classic film Sabrina, in which Audrey Hepburn’s character trains at Le Cordon Bleu Paris.


This immersive experience offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the school’s most esteemed female chefs, providing hands-on insight into the art of pâtisserie at the highest level.

Urban Food Fest and WOOW Market on 8th March

Every Saturday, Islington Square on Upper Street transforms into a vibrant marketplace in partnership with Urban Food Fest. Open from 11 AM to 5 PM on the Boulevard, this carefully curated market brings together a dynamic mix of local makers, offering everything from delicious street food and handcrafted artisanal goods to unique creative crafts for the whole family to enjoy.


To celebrate International Women’s Day, Urban Food Fest has partnered with Women On Our Way (WOOW) to bring some incredible female owned business to the market. Expect to see A Mixed Bag of Beads , Umutoni, Dasein, Mixala Chai, Christina Ellamyah, Leah Sofia, ByVarga

International Women's Day Women in Wine panel on 11th March

This International Women’s Day, Humble Grape is raising a glass to the remarkable women redefining the wine industry. Join us for an unforgettable evening hosted by Libby Brodie, who was recently named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Drink by Drinks Retailing. Libby will guide us through an inspiring exploration of the women shaping the future of wine.


The evening begins with a welcome glass of Genevieve MCC, a sparkling wine from a female-founded winery, followed by a guided tasting of four exceptional wines crafted by pioneering female winemakers.


Joining the discussion are industry trailblazers: Archie Patel, a renowned Wine & Travel Communicator and Content Creator, Mari Juhasoo who has carved out an impressive career in wine sales and now works with Mentzendorff, and Humble Grape’s sommelier Sharrol, who will share her inspiring wine journey from South Africa to London and bring an international perspective to the conversation.


Throughout the event, guests will indulge in artisanal cheese and charcuterie boards, thoughtfully paired with the wines.
