The London Action Festival – 28th – 31st July

The London Action Festival – 28th – 31st July

Yippee Ki-Yay…Capturists! London is about to see the Action Film Festival explode into multiple venues across London between July 28th – 31st, 2022.

The first world-class Film & TV Festival is holding its first-ever event in London and is dedicated to all things action movies. Based at the prestigious Picturehouse Central, right in the heart of London’s West End (and other venues), there’s everything a film buff (or just interested party!) needs to get their action on. Screenings, Q&As, awards and lots of surprises, saddle up for a celebration of action films you know and action films you might not know.

Special events to look out for during the festival include a special ‘Die Hard’ screening featuring an exclusive Q&A with the film’s director John McTiernan. Add to that special guest Robert Davi (the baddie!) for a musical surprise…and you’ll have a killer night! (July 28th). On the 30th you can watch a special screening of Kung-Fu masterpiece, ‘Legend Of The Drunken Master’ at Picturehouse Central and you’ll be treated to the uncut Hong Kong version, restored by Warner Brothers, shown in 4k with new subtitles.

Make sure you check where different events are as everything is being spread over central London to make everything as accessible as possible. You’ll be able to see some of your favourite films in locations like Royal Geographical Society. ‘Anatomy of a Set Piece’, (28th July) features a panel of top-tier directors who will be choosing their very own favourite Action Set Piece of all time and deliver a live masterclass on what makes their selection so special and how it shaped their approach to film-making. A-list directors are already lined-up.

Sponsored by film experts, Den of Geek, you’re guaranteed to get more than a little insider knowledge and insights from the people in front of and behind your favourite scenes.
