Spring into Battersea Affordable Art Fair this March
Join the arterati at Battersea Park in early March for the Affordable Art Fair. From 9th – 12th March visit this year’s feast for the eyes with prices for artworks starting at just £50. Grab yourself a gem from the hottest upcoming artists with a special feature on women and female identifying artists due to this year’s fair coinciding with International Women’s Day.
HIghlights this year include the Korean Seoul-based gallery Mookji Art Collaboration who specialise in promoting the work of early career and emerging Korean artists, and first-time exhibitors Gallery Millcreek, hailing from Gyeonggido. Do not miss Clare Packer’s installation of collage giving a cutting-edge twist to ancient Grecian and Roman-inspired figureheads.
Clare’s monochrome and terracotta heads have attracted an impressive roster of collectors, including former British Vogue Fashion Director, Lucinda Chambers. Also reimagining the antiquarian is Syrian-born artist Omar Khalaf. After moving to Vienna, Omar worked as a set painter for some of the city’s most prestigious opera houses, and this helped inspire his latest ‘figures’ series, which reimagines classical sculptures in paintings of vivid colour (Available from VC Art).
