Lilly’s Cafe, Covent Garden – Review

Lilly’s Cafe in Covent Garden is every Gen Z and millennial’s dream place! A beautiful courtyard filled with green leafy plants leads you into the ultimate instagramable restaurant, plush blue velvet chairs, pumpkin orange walls, hanging plants from the ceiling, with an eye-catching skylight. This place is stylish and chic!

They specialise in delicious and equally beautifully presented brunch dishes that include Banoffee Toast, Capo E Pepe, Rice Pudding and Bacon Brioche to name a few. Lilly’s Cafe offers all day dining, arriving at 6.30pm I opted for the larger plates instead of the breakfast options (although they are on offer if you so desire in the evening).

I choose the Roasted Cauliflower Flatbread, which was a medley of chickpeas, cauliflower, and pomegranate. The curry mayo and red onion chutney brought the dish to life, flavoursome, with a kick of heat, with the pomegranate adding a touch of sweetness. I also tried The Tokyo Fries, another dish that was a hit, crunchy fries, with a generous sprinkling of chopped spring onions and aioli and a welcome kick of heat, it was moorish and was very quickly devoured.

Although absolutely full, I managed to save a little space for dessert. Headed up by chef Kimberly Lin, the founder of vegan stuffed cookie brand Floozie Cookies, I had high hopes for the dessert. I ordered the lemon drizzle cake and although it tasted nice I wasn’t blown away. However overall I loved my main dishes and the surroundings are beautiful, it’s an oasis away from the hustle of Covent Garden and I’d deffo visit during breakfast or brunch to try out their Banoffee Toast and Bacon Brioche!

Lilly’s Cafe also offers afternoon tea, served daily from 4pm, where you can get bottomless cake with tea / coffee for £20pp or £30pp if you want to upgrade to the champagne offering.
