Brunch review at Sam’s Waterside in Brentford
Passionate restaurateur Sam Harrison, of the renowned Sam’s restaurant brand unveils his latest brunch menu in collaboration with Head Chef Abbie Hendren. This refreshed offering champions expertly sourced, high-quality local produce, elevating the dining experience with fresh flavours and modern culinary creativity.
Nestled in the luxurious Brentford Project, the restaurant enjoys a prime riverside setting, offering a tranquil escape for relaxed dining. We visited on a sunny Sunday morning to sample the new brunch menu. From the outset, our experience was effortless—three hours of complimentary parking beneath the restaurant made arrival stress-free.
Inside, we were warmly greeted by Sam himself, whose personal touch set the tone for the morning. He led us to a beautiful table overlooking the Thames—a perfect backdrop for a leisurely weekend catch-up.

The menu blends classic breakfast favourites with contemporary flair. Think Full English and Veggie English, alongside lighter options like Avocado Salmon Toast, and indulgent treats such as French Toast with Berry Compote and Whipped Mascarpone. For those looking to start the day with a kick, the breakfast cocktails provide a welcome ‘hair of the dog’ remedy.
We opted for a traditional Full English, which arrived in a generous portion. A jumbo sausage and crispy black pudding added rich, decadent flavours, yet the dish remained fresh and well-balanced. A Daily Dose juice—a vibrant mix of apple, ginger, aloe vera, and beetroot—brought a refreshing, healthy boost.
The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was another standout, featuring perfectly cooked, creamy eggs paired with tangy smoked salmon, a hint of lemon juice, and a touch of crème fraîche and dill. The portion was satisfying yet refined.
Beyond brunch, Sam’s Waterside offers an impressive selection of weekly specials, making it a go-to for any occasion:
Wine & Dine Menu: Two courses + a bottle of wine for £60, available for lunch and dinner midweek.
Cocktail Happy Hour: Tuesday to Friday, 5–6:30 PM—the perfect excuse to unwind with a well-crafted drink.
Locals Set Menu: Two courses for just £19.50, featuring dishes like St Austell Bay mussels, beef shin ragu, and rhubarb & lemon curd Eton Mess. This menu is available for both lunch and dinner, offering an affordable yet refined dining option.
With its stunning waterside setting, warm hospitality, and high-quality dishes, Sam’s Waterside delivers on all fronts. Whether you’re after a laid-back brunch, a midweek treat, or a special evening out with great food and drinks, this Brentford gem has something for everyone.
