Brunch at Kachori in Elephant Park - Review

Make your way from the concrete jungle of Elephant and Castle into the peaceful serenity of Elephant Park. Nestled in the corner, you will find Kachori. We tried their new brunch menu, a clever mashup of British and modern regional North  Indian flavours available every Saturday from 11am to 3pm. We were given a table on the terrace - the perfect spot to people watch. The interior is absolutely stunning and perfect for those social media updates.

There really is something for everyone as they serve everything from granola to porridge to smoked chicken salad and avocado on toast, all accompanied by unlimited prosecco or drinks for a 90-minute window. The main dishes are mainly Indian and we struggled to make decisions as the options were so good.

We started with coffees, and then mango lassi and the Virgin Mary. Both came garnished with rose petals and were super fresh and delicious.

Following that we opted for the homemade granola with pour-over honey and milk and the eggs with smashed avocado, both came beautifully presented and were very generous portions for small plates. Everything is served on the most beautiful crockery and the attention to detail makes a difference. The staff were attentive throughout.

The Masala Dosa was next, a classic Indian crepe filled with potato, a vegetable stew and tangy coconut chutney, absolutely delicious. We also tried the Chole Bhature: a spicy chickpea curry served with leavened bread. Both were such huge portions we struggled to finish and took most home.

As Kachori celebrated their first birthday at Elephant Park we were offered bubbles. Still, we opted for a non-alcoholic blueberry spritzer as we moved under the canopy to dodge the weather. We stayed for a few hours and enjoyed people watching: the spot is dog and child-friendly and had a great neighbourhood vibe.

We'd recommend this menu as it's outstanding value for money at £22 per head. You won't need to eat for the rest of the day.
