‘Big Ideas Live’ technology festival – 19th November

‘Big Ideas Live’ is a one-day technology festival that’s coming to London on 19th November from 9.30am – 6pm. After attending you’ll be able to answer the question on everyone’s lips…what does 3D-printed meat taste like(?) and a whole lot more.

Beyond this, you’ll hear and experience a raft of science and future tech topics and people like the former Director of Cyber at GCHQ, Microsoft, Dr Owase Jeelani from Great Ormond Street Hospital, a former NASA astronaut, Dex Hunter-Torricke, from the Facebook Oversight Board, and Jane Poynter – co-CEO of Space Perspective and former adviser to Elon Musk.

The day’s theme is ‘Who Owns the Future?’ and Tom Clarke, Sky News Science and Technology Editor, is hosting along with Sky News presenter Sarah-Jane Mee. The pair will be chairing discussions and talks on a wide range of topics, including:

  1. How can VR and AI save lives in surgery?

  2. Can sporting judgment calls be left to video-assisted referees?

  3. Can technology end the ageing process?

  4. What roles do technology and social media play in cyberwarfare?

  5. When will your brain be replaced by AI?

  6. Why are we still racing to space?

  7. What’s the future of Big Tech?

  8. Britain vs The Rest of the World

Big Ideas Live’s mission is to explore the revolutionary tech changes that are happening around us and what they might mean for our future. Beyond the talks, you’ll also get to ask questions, see new NFT art, check out bomb-disposal robotic dogs, speed date in virtual reality, try on the future of fashion and taste the food of the future with 3D-printed meat.

Book your ticket to ‘Big Ideas Live’ now (at Protein Studios, Shoreditch), £23 per ticket, available from skynews.com/bigideaslive
