£10 pancakes on Pancake Day from The Table Cafe

Pancakes! These fluffy discs of pure heaven are the perfect vessel to transport all manner of sweet and savoury toppings to our eager mouths. The much-loved and increasingly popular brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert favourites even have a day named after them. With that day fast approaching, it’s only fitting that we find the best places across the capital serving up the perfect stack of pancakes with awesome deals. Who doesn’t love a delicious bargain?

This pancake day, award-winning brunch spot, The Table, is treating guests to an array of irresistible pancakes for only £10 at their Southwark and Battersea Rise branches. Their menu boasts a good selection of both sweet and savoury options. ‘So what do I choose’? I hear you cry. Lucky for you, The Capturist team are on hand to give you our recommendations. With so many tempting items on the menu, it’s hard to go wrong, but just to be sure, we ordered three to try out. The totally Instagrammable Very Berry, the vegan pumpkin pancakes and the long weekender.

The Very Berry was a real stand-out dish, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, with a generous amount of strawberries, blueberry compote, summer berries, crème fraiche and maple syrup. Beautifully presented and even more delightful in the mouth. The fruit, crème fraiche and maple syrup, brought a devilish sweetness to the light and fluffy pancakes. It was indulgent and every bit worth it.

The ‘Long Weekender’ was a great savoury option. Buttermilk pancakes with smashed avocado, two free-range poached eggs, chives and maple syrup with smoked salmon. I have on many occasions chosen sourdough bread, eggs and salmon for brunch, but this is the first time having pancakes as an alternative to bread when opting for this classic brunch dish. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the fluffy pancakes were a light and enjoyable alternative to bread. A winner if you prefer savoury over sweet.

Last but not least were the vegan pumpkin pancakes, beautifully presented, although overpoweringly sweet. For the sweet-toothed sugar hunters out there, this one could be right up your street. All pancakes were light and airy, not stodgy, so you could easily wrap your lips around two scrumptious offerings. Our advice, try sweet and savoury, and make sure you go hungry. You won’t be disappointed.

Pancake Day at The Table is currently taking reservations on 13th February. All pancakes are £10 throughout the whole day.

The offering is available at: The Table Southwark 83 Southwark St, London SE1 0HX and The Table Battersea, 35-37 Battersea Rise, SW11 1HG. Battersea is open until 10pm and Southwark is open until 4pm.
