Oxford Street Christmas Light Switch on – 2nd November

From 2nd November, Oxford Street will kick start the festive season with the switch on of the iconic Christmas lights. Thousands of stunning white stars will light up, for visitors to marvel at. Oxford Street will be transformed into a festive wonderland and visitors will be treated to street entertainment and in-store offers and experiences.

The Christmas lights will be complemented by several festive on-street and in-store activities over the Christmas months. These activations will be announced in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!

Covent Garden’s Christmas Light Switch on – 7th November

On 7th November, Covent Garden’s Christmas lights will be switched on, and over 40 gigantic bells with bows, 12 giant baubles and 8 spinning mirror balls, will be displayed in the listed Market Building. The Christmas lights will dazzle visitors with over 140,000 LED lights illuminating the Piazza, Seven Dials and surrounding streets. The 60ft Christmas tree will display 30,000 LED lights and will be an absolute masterpiece to set your eyes on, cameras at the ready!

The Christmas light switch-on marks the start of a 7-week festive-filled programme, which will include surprise performances, daily snow fall, family photo moments, exclusive shopping events, food and drink festivals and much more.

Carnaby Street Christmas light Switch on – 8th November

The Carnaby Street Christmas light switch on is taking place alongside the annual shopping and dining party on 8th November, from 4pm to 8pm. Over 100 brands, restaurants and bars are getting in the festive spirit and will be offering a range of discounts including 20%* off, activations and promotions alongside live music and entertainment.

Marylebone Village Christmas Light Switch on – 9th November

Marylebone Village will be hosting the ‘Merry Marylebone’ festive switch-on event on Thursday 9 November 2023, from 3pm – 8pm. Hosted by BBC London’s Jo Good at 6pm, and a celebrity guest. Expect to find artisan market stalls, Santa’s grotto, wreath-making workshops, a Ferris wheel, late-night shopping and so much more! This year, the brand-new Christmas lights display, designed by Blachere Illumination, will be illuminating the streets of Marylebone Village for the festive season. Savile Row Light Switch on – 16th November

Bespoke tailoring district, Savile Row will be lighting up the sky with their new Christmas lights, which have taken inspiration from iconic tools found in every tailor’s workshop: a pair of shears.

The giant illuminated golden shears will be cutting through a glittering pealight swathe of ‘fabric’, with the message of ‘Savile Row Christmas’ To celebrate the new lights, tailors and retailers will be open for late-night shopping, offering visitors special offers and festive treats.

Mayfair Christmas Light Switch on – 16th November

The Mayfair Christmas light switch-on is taking place on 16th November, transforming the area into a magical wonderland where visitors can discover festive charm at its finest. On Mayfair’s Mount Street, 63,000 sparkling lights in the shape of big blue blows will illuminate the iconic street.

Visitors can enjoy delicious drinks, listen to Christmas choirs, a brass band and watch a Nutcracker performance curated by Danceworks. Shops will be offering exclusive discounts and promotions and much more.It’s going to be a fun and spectacular evening.

Fleet Street Quarter Light Switch on – 21st November

Fleet Street Quarter will be welcoming the festive cheer with the grand launch of its Christmas lights, illuminating Ludgate Circus, Chancery Lane, and New Street Square with over 90,000 bulbs. Visitors on the night will also be able to celebrate the launch of the magical trail ‘Walking with The Snowman™’ – where they will be able to discover 12 decorated Snowman sculptures throughout the Quarter.

On 28th November at 5pm, Chancery Lane will come alive with a dazzling display of lights evocative of the newspaper-printing heritage Fleet Street is synonymous with, with the design depicting the leaves of a newspaper.

Visit New Street Square on 30 November at 5pm, when the traditional Christmas tree lights will be switched on in partnership with LandSec.
