Selfridges Swap Shop by LOANHOOD – 10th – 30th July

It’s always encouraging to see big name brands and household labels take steps towards more sustainable operations. Such as the UK’s most iconic department store Selfridges, which has just launched a Swap Shop by LOANHOOD for the first time this summer. Through the initiative, customers are invited to bring in preowned clothes to swap from a curation of second-hand pieces, all without any purchase required. Offering another way to revive and refresh wardrobes while reducing fashion consumption.

The swap shops are hosted in partnership with LOANHOOD, a circular fashion community for rental and swapping. The aim is not only to prolong the lifespan of clothing by promoting the concept of buying pre-loved pieces over buying new, but also to inspire creativity and style by offering exclusive one-off opportunities outside of the latest seasonal collections.

Each person can bring up to five items of men’s and women’s clothing worth a resale value of £50 – £300. The dedicated team will value these items, and exchange them for stamps based on type, brand, and condition. Stamps can then be used to select pieces from the swap shop, while a team of expert assistants can help you to style and exchange items, dialing up the pleasure, fun and desirability of shopping second-hand.

Dates: 10th – 30th July
