King’s Cross Summer Sounds returns to Coal Drops Yard this summer – 9th – 20th August

The free music festival King’s Cross Summer Sounds is back this August, running from 9th – 20th August, the 12-day event will bring some of the world’s finest folk, jazz, classical and experimental musicians to London.

Black Voices, a Birmingham-based quintet, will headline the event on the opening night with their show ‘The Sound of Black Britain’, accompanied by a live band, and they’ll take audiences through a musical journey of the icons of Black Britain, performing hit songs by the sounds of Craig David, Mic Paris, Loose Ends, and more!

Other festival highlights include the Queer Britain takeover on 15th August, showcasing some of the best local LGBTQIA+ talent with performances by artists from the English National Opera on Saturday 19th August, an evening of Jazz by the world-famous Joe Stilgoe on 17th August, and the future of folk music performed by National Youth Folk Ensemble on Sunday 13 August.

Live music will be on every evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and from 1pm to 6pm on ‘Family Sundays’ – the perfect place to spend time with family and friends!
