Shian Nails – Fillers Treatment Review

Having opened in early 2021, Shian Nails has become a Dalston beauty institution, known for their luxurious beauty treatments. Offering everything from express manicures to anti-wrinkle injections, the team is renowned for giving high-quality service with a smile. Located on the Haggerston stretch of Kingsland Road, the salon can’t be missed; a glistening sign with gold writing and a beautiful window display, the clear emphasis on aesthetics is a good omen for what lies inside. Greeted by a friendly team and a delicious oat latte, I immediately felt comfortable and at ease.

Having been thinking about trying fillers for my smile lines for about a year now, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to dive in. I was greeted by my specialist Jo who introduced herself before leading me downstairs into the treatment room; immaculately clean with a comfortable bed, I was offered a stress toy animal to squeeze should the injectables become too uncomfortable. Jo talked me through the components, how the procedure works what the risks could be (as well as how she would react to these), a nurse in her other job I felt entirely confident in both what she was telling me and her ability to do a good job. Jo explained that hyaluronic acid would be injected into my smile lines to essentially fill in the wrinkle and lift the creases out of the skin.

Preparing myself for a lot of pain, I actually found it to be more tolerable than I expected, no more painful than having a tattoo. I had 4 shots on each side using a total of 1ml of fillers across both sides, with Jo stopping to show me my reflection and check in after every couple of injections. The whole thing took a total of about 10 minutes and I could instantly see the difference. The procedure didn’t completely remove all of the lines but there was a tremendous reduction, and so subtle that no one has noticed that I have had it done. The downtime was minimal; my appointment was in the morning and I went to work and out that night and had no issues, a very slight swelling that you could feel to touch but not notice by looking. For about a week I could fill a solid line where the liquid had settled but this has now disappeared, and it just feels normal.

A great East London spot, Shian Nails specialise in everything from nails to injectables with plans to expand further this year. A super friendly and knowledgeable team makes for a relaxed visit with quality service.
