Energy Studio at Volonté – Review

Aptly known as ‘West London’s New Destination for Inclusive Wellbeing’, Café Volonté’s Energy Studio is fast becoming one of the area’s staple wellness studios. In line with the ethos of inclusive wellbeing, they have created a new signature class incorporating the principles of ‘move, work, restore’ into one concise hour.

We visited the Energy Studio to try the signature U360 class for ourselves and find out what all of the fuss is about. Curated by co-founder and fitness professional Haylene Ryan Causer, the sessions are designed to allow each person to achieve their full potential through an expertly designed sequence of cardio, strength and recovery activities.

Set in their top spec studio, the space is concise but fully equipped, allowing for intimate groups to maximise the experience. Starting hard and fast immediately hitting the rowing machine and spin bike, the hour long session begins with a bang – which to be honest is how I like it, getting the brutal part over and done with first.

What followed was a mixture of strength and stamina activities, using a range of weights, equipment and exercises. This kind of rotation of exercises really kept the session interesting and manageable, no chance of getting bored and safe in the knowledge that you will soon be on to another activity meaning it never felt like it was too much.

It was my first time using weights in this way but due to the size of the class I received lots of personal feedback and adjustments, accompanied by the mirror wall allowing me to keep an eye on my form. Finishing off with yoga stretches with the studio lights dimmed right down, it really did feel like we have managed to lock in a complete rotation of the different spheres of wellness into 1 concise hour.

A fantastic new studio in the heart of West London, Volonté’s Energy Studio is curating a completely new approach to fitness, focusing on offering a workout with a 360’ approach to health. In addition to this, it also has a wonderful upstairs café with a feel-good menu showcasing sustainable, seasonal, and ethically sourced produce as well as wholesome ingredients from post-workout protein shakes, barista-style coffees and fulfilling bowls.
