Get Colourful with Sasha Starlight

Wearing colour can be a little daunting. Maybe you don’t want to stand out and get noticed, or you need to wear darker, more muted colours for work. But there are actually benefits to wearing bright colours. In fact, studies have shown that it can have a positive effect on your mood and your behaviour.

So, if you’re wondering where to start on your own colour journey, one fabulous designer to look into is Sasha Starlight. Sasha handcrafts all her pieces to order from her studio in Hackney and is a self-confessed pattern obsessive. When worn together as suits, Sasha’s colours and prints are almost kaleidoscopic. However, for those looking for a more subtle approach, each piece can be worn on its own, teamed up with darker or monochrome items.

The collections are all quite small and easy to navigate. The latest Bamboo Collection only has 21 pieces, including the eco-glitter tops and turbans made from recycled polyester. You will find kaftans, palazzo pants, drape jackets and blouses – with 4 unique prints in each shape – Ziggy, Citrine Fizz, Rainbow and Trippy Check.

A unisex label, the pieces are comfortable and versatile. Most designs are flexibly sized. Some items are one-size with different length options, while others can be custom made. A signature Sasha Starlight look is the dramatic oversized silhouette, and clever detailing means these can be shaped according to the body of the wearer.

The label is also committed to sustainability and ethical trading. Each pattern is digitally printed in the UK and then cut specifically for each garment to avoid any waste. Materials include silk, bamboo or recycled lycra, which have been tested for performance and are made using mechanical methods rather than chemical methods, making it softer, stronger and non-polluting.
