Who doesn’t remember Orange Wednesdays two for one cinema tickets?! Well, they’re making their comeback this month in partnership with Jameson, the UK’s favourite Irish Whiskey brand. Jameson, well known for its involvement in film festivals and film projects, and in celebration of the launch of Jameson Orange, brings back Orange Wednesdays in support of local and independent cinemas. 2021 has been an unusual year for us all, and the cinema was sorely missed during lockdown. Encouragingly, cinema attendance is nearly back to pre-pandemic levels, and with the nights having now drawn in, hitting up the cinema on a Wednesday night is the perfect mid-week outing.

How do I get tickets?’ you ask. Jameson Orange Wednesdays starts its trial partnership with the Dalston community cinema Rio this month. Rio is offering 2 for 1 film tickets every Wednesday throughout November, with a free serve of Jameson Orange available to over 18s using the code JAMESONORANGE online or in the cinema. Recent releases at the Rio include Dune, Denis Villeneuve’s retelling of Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi series, and The French Dispatch, Wes Anderson’s love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional twentieth-century French city.

Jameson Orange is a smooth whiskey spirit drink with a natural zesty orange flavour. A clean tasting tipple, gorgeous as a long drink with lemonade and some fresh orange and equally impressive in a chocolate orange expresso martini or an old fashioned.
